Progress on my handplane art. This will form part of Karl Mackie’s handplane art project. Lets hope it turns out well!
Playing with the soldering iron, as you do, to see how the design looked burnt into the wood. I love the idea that the art becomes a permanent part of the object.
However, after a lot of experimenting, I came to the conclusion that the design doesn’t lend itself to this technique. I’m sure I’ll use it for a future project.
For now though, the handplane is all sketched up, and ready for painting!
